Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which includes East Midlands, Bournemouth and Stansted, looks after 48m passengers a year, employs over 30,000 people and belongs to ten Greater Manchester Councils and an Australian investment fund; its registered business address is Manchester Town Hall. Strong inward investment, particularly from China, is funding the new £800m Airport City, including retail, cargo, a science park and a low-tax Enterprise Zone; work has already started on improved transport links and the World Logistics Hub.
