LOCAL businesses woman, Jane Bownes, is a real inspiration in Bradwell and the Peak District.
Her company, Bradwell's Ice Cream, has been employing local people to hand finish their renowned traditional buttery, gold award-winning, dairy ice cream, for over 100 years.

But Jane's contribution to her local economy and community is above and beyond her role as Managing Director, because now she also helps save local people's lives.

At a moment's notice, in her role as First Responder and St John's volunteer, Jane stops everything to rush to administer potentially life saving treatment to local people in the Peak District.

In between helping save lives and running Bradwell's, she and her team have set about developing a new luxury dairy ice collection to satisfy discerning adults who enjoy eating and sharing ice cream with their friends.

After years of development, Jane and her team are finally able to reveal Bradwell's new luxury Platinum Collection.

"After intensive testing, sampling and blind tasting, we short listed the seven new flavours, but then started a new challenge. The new flavours needed an image which reflected their premium appeal, so we began the process of designing the packaging and branding."

* Bradwell's Dairy Ice Cream Ltd was established in 1899. Bradwell's original founder Grandma Hannah made her legendary recipes in her front parlour. She had ice brought by train from Sheffield as she had no electricity.

It was sold locally into other areas of the Peak District. Hannah's Grandson Noel Bradwell carried on the business in the 1960's until it was sold in October 1992 to Lawrence Wosskow.
