TWO lucky people are set to become firefighters for the day in what is sure to be one of the most hotly-contested lots in an auction of promises next week.
Organised by the PTA of Chapel-en-le-Frith C of E Primary School the event, in memory of teacher Lisa Wilson, will raise funds for leukaemia research and the library project at the school.

More than 100 fantastic lots will be up for grabs at the a
uction on Thursday June 19 starting at 7.30pm at the Royal Oak, Chapel.

The adults will get the chance of a lifetime to be firefighters for the day spending a full day with the duty watch, chaperoned by a Watch Manager, tackling many of the challenges that an operational firefighter experiences.

They will carry out training activities with the duty crew which will consist of squirting water, fighting fire, climbing ladders, wearing breathing apparatus in a smoke-filled building, cutting a car up and travelling 100 feet up in the aerial ladder platform in a day to remember.

The lots have something for everyone from tickets to concerts and shows, theme parks and days out including Camelot, Heights of Abraham and Chatsworth House to more unusual lots including having a meal cooked in your own home or even the minister's fees for a marriage blessing.

There is the chance to have lunch for two at the House of Commons and a Tour of Parliament, rounds of golf, meals outs, beauty treatments, a pyjama party, children's party with disco, CDs, DVDs and a spa day.

Some items can be collected the next day, but payment is on the night.

Credit card payments accepted - at the bar only – subject to a small charge. Cash and cheque payments (with cheque guarantee card) accepted at the Auction table. Bids can only be placed in whole £ amounts only i.e. no 'pence' bids.

If you cannot make it to the Auction, sealed bids can be placed in the collection points at the following locations: Chapel Post Office; School Office, Chapel Primary School and The Royal Oak by tomorrow (Friday).

Please include lot number, item description, amount bid, your name, address, and contact phone number.
