YEAR 11 pupils from Longdendale Community Language College spent a weekend of fun and work at Boreatton Park Outdoor Activity Centre in Shrewsbury.
Swotting for their forthcoming GCSE exams in the summer, the dedicated youngsters were taught revision techniques, exam skills, and were prepped for their language speaking tests.

But it was not all slog for the 15 and 16-year-olds. They enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities from archery to abseiling to raft making.

Pupil Chris Jordan said: "I loved every minute of the residential. Not only did I learn something from every revision lesson, but the chance of being together and sharing the study experience with my friends have really motivated me to work harder."

Activity leader Lorna Moore added: "The pupils were absolutely brilliant, they were as enthusiastic about studying as they were about their leisure activities.

"With such a fantastic attitude and positive work ethos, I am sure they are destined for some outstanding GCSE results this summer."
