FOR ONE day every year Cheshire's Tatton Park undergoes something of a transformation.
The normally quiet, picturesque grounds of the Knutsford attraction become the scene for something quite extraordinary as the annual VWNW show takes place.

Now in its 23rd year, the show is the largest VW gathering in the north of England, attracting thousands of visitors from across the country.

The torrential downpours seen on Saturday melted away as Tatton Park bathed in glorious sunshine throughout Sunday's event, a must in the calendar for VW enthusiasts everywhere.

Classic camper vans lined up alongside lovingly restored Beetles while elsewhere, visitors took in a variety of other displays featuring GTi's, California Look cars and buggies and replicas.

But its not just the pristine vehicles on show that attract attention as the ever more popular rat look made an appearance at the event, organised by the Volkswagen Northwest club.

And with a huge area dedicated to cars for sale, show goers looking to pick up a bargain bus or Beetle had plenty of options to choose from.

Once visitors had taken in the huge variety of vehicles on show, it was time to do a spot of shopping. And with a multitude of trade stands selling everything from clothing to books, and beyond, there really was something for everyone at Tatton Park.

Parts for all types of VW were available in abundance ensuring everything needed to finish off that camper or beetle restoration was on offer.

Owners had clearly spent hours getting their vehicles ready for the show but there were just as many impressive exhibits outside in the car park.

For the kids, there was also a funfair and amusements as well as a huge playground and if there was time left after taking in the show, Tatton Park also boasts a farm, beautiful extensive grounds and the historic house.
