CHARLES Jolly talked about the Fairtrade scheme and how it benefits workers in Third World Countries, which everyone found interesting and enlightening.
President Joy Brown won the competition with her handcrafted gift from abroad, Dorothy Markides won the main raffle and Pat Mirams the birthday raffle.

For many years Horwich End members have collected spare toiletries, knitted garments for children and other specified items for the Chernobyl Childrens’ Project and this month made a special effort and many items will be handed on.

The outings to Stockport Air Raid Shelters and Southport were enjoyed.

Chapel WI hosted the group summer walk and a few from Horwich End joined in on a pleasant evening.

The Garden Group are off visiting two local gardens in July and hope to go to Staffordshire to the National Memorial and two gardens in that area in August.
