PEOPLE in the High Peak are being given the chance to have their say on the decisions made in the NHS at a special event being held in Bakewell.
Taking place on October 7, the interactive event will give local people the chance to tell Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust what they think on important issues including funding for cancer drugs, preventing smoking, investment in resources to make sure hospitals are clean, and much more.

Patients and members of the public will have the opportunity to find out more about how decisions that affect their health get made by the PCT, as well as being given a chance to influence how those decisions are made.

There will be interactive activities and two brief presentations: what is the PCT and where does it get its money from? by Martin Whittle, director of corporate strategy at the PCT; and how do you measure the quality of life? by Dr Richard Richards, assistant director of public health at the PCT.

The event is free, and the PCT will pay for any local travelling expenses incurred.

Free lunch and refreshments will be provided, and the event will be held between 9.30am and 4.30pm with booking in advance essential.

For a booking form, contact 01298 212272.
