CONSIDERED opinion from Harrogate Town where Mark Hume last plied his sharp shooting skills is that Buxton's new striker will score a hatful of goals next season.
So what is known about the new arrival?

Well, Mark Hume started out as a trainee at Barnsley youth academy back in 1996, and learned his trade over three seasons, before being released to join Doncaster Rovers in 1998.

Two seasons at Rovers followed, though he only managed two league starts and eight appearances in total. He did score six goals though.

Towards the end of his stint in Doncaster Mark was loaned to Gateshead in 1999, and then to Barrow between November 1999 and January 2000.

Barrow wanted to extend the loan to the end of the season, but instead he was loaned to Gainsborough Trinity. Barrow would not be denied, and signed Mark at the start of the 2000/2001 season.

With Barrow, he won Player of the year for his ability to play as a centre-half or centre-forward.

In successive seasons he won the Chairman and Presidents cups with Barrow, making 188 appearances, most of them starts. Rarely subbed off, he did miss the end of six matches after seeing red.

A substantial threat from corners, he scored 43 goals for the Bluebirds, before suffering with a hernia in his last season in Cumbria, and was sold to Alfreton in February 2004 for £4,000.

In his first season for the Reds, he made 50 appearances and scored seven goals (including one on his debut, and another against Barrow).

His second season appearances were curtailed after a double leg break early in the season. He did manage something of a comeback, and towards the end of the season got in nine games, and two goals.

He moved to Stalbridge Celtic and then to Harrogate Town where he scored 14 league and two cup goals. Now he'll be going, full tilt, net-busting for The Bucks next term!
